Vikas is a professor of Electrical Engineering at UAF. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1986. Before coming to UAF in 1995, he taught and researched at Stanford University. His research interests include space physics, remote sensing, acoustics, and digital signal processing. He is author of more than 80 research papers. He directs the analysis of high resolution gamma ray data obtained from the ORION station at UAF. He is also involved in developing ways to power the ORION station in a remote environment.
