R/V Wecoma |
|
Built in 1975, the Wecoma is 185 feet long, and has the capacity for 12 crew and a scientific party of 18. (This mesoscale cruise will only have 14 people in the scientific party.) The Wecoma can cruise at a speed of 12 knots, and it is used for a variety of scientific projects in the Pacific. The dry and wet lab plus the CTD chamber and SeaSoar launching platform make this vessel appropriate for the mesoscale survey. This cruise will collect physical oceanographic data including water temperature, salinity, chlorophyll, and nitrate concentrations from the SeaSoar. |
